Abstract/Summary:
Empirical analysis about manufacturing strategy has turned into focus in international manufacture and operation management in recent years. Although most articles on the topic have been conceptual in nature, the number of empirical studies has grown as well. This method mainly applies multiple statistic analysis for exploring associated relationship among internal factors of manufacturing strategy. And a great deal of data comes from reviewing or questionnaire research.At present, the research in international manufacturing strategy attaches importance to the developed countries. Studies of manufacturing strategy in developing countries have been insufficient. The manufacturing strategy of these developing countries is different from the developed countries'. But what is the difference? Which problem should these developing countries need to regard when they compete with the developed countries in their nation? Which problem should these countries pay attention to when they participate in international competition? These questions demand being studied more.The paper notice this trend so we choose China and Germany to compare their manufacturing strategy. Firstly, the study overviews the related theories on the manufacturing strategy, making a detailed analysis on the environment which affect manufacturing strategy. It makes a comparative study between Chinese enterprise and Germany enterprise by empirical research. Comparison mainly regarding three areas, namely manufacturing goal, manufacturing practice and manufacturing performance. Finally, the study discusses the result and forecast some problem that maybe appear in China and Germany cooperation, proposes countermeasures. Research dates mainly come from the International Manufacturing Strategy Survey database, applying software for SPSS.
