In recent years, the study of dryland has got more attention so UNESCO set up the consultative committee for research. A lot of research including pollen from ancient dunes and lake sendiments in Sahara and other area in Africa was done by Germany, Britain, France and other countries. Australia carried out research in dryland, including land surveying and planning, investigating and testing water resources which need to be developed, improving the management system to limit the carrying capacity, and so on..Developing fruit industry is a basic way to improve environment which also can prevent land degradation, ensure food security, and increase incomes. Dryland has special climate and soil condition, where is suitable for special fruit trees. To develop fruit industry in the dryland, can protect the environment, and prevent soil erosion. It is also an important way to adjust agriculture structure and increase farmer's income. Based on the collection of data and replenishment investigation, this paper studied on the forestry and fruit industry in Gansu using statistical method such as comparative study and ahp.etc. It was concluded that:According to the study, there were ten types of fruit forests, which include the main types of fruit in China .Various types of development in the regions overlapped each other, which indicated that fruit industry structure is reasonable, and have different emphases, and a moderate scale development in eugenics and areas that are suitable for fruits. There are many kinds of fruit trees suitable for the dryland in china, such as apple, peach, pear, plum, apricot, grape, haw, etc. China has wide distribution of economic, economic forest plantation area was nearly 30,000,000 hm~2; the production of mian economic forest was up to101, 210,000 t. There are numbers of grain and oil forests, fruit trees forests, economic forests for special purpose and others in China. With the analsis on forestry and fruit industry in Gansu, there were five types of fruit industry including walnuts, apricots, sea buckthorn and pepper which consists the mian types of economia forests in northwest China. And a brief introduction of Gansu's economic forest development was given.Take vineyard in Gansu Corridor as an example, systematic explanation of technical measures and evaluation of benifets was concluded.Economic benefits According to the needs of the wine, in the premise of quality assurance to increase output, considered high-quality production, water-saving measures such as drip irrigation under plastic film-making was used ,which economic benefits increased 4 500yuan/hm~2. Grape quality is expected to yield 12 000kg / hm~2, income reach to 36 000 yuan / hm~2. Net income would be 9780 yuan / hm~2, and 32,600,000 yuan of 333.33hm~2.Ecological benefitslay the foundation for sustainable development, based on the implementation of pilot demonstration, Second, optimize the way to fertilization, improve soil structure , strengthen soil ability of water and soil conservation, and further improve soil fertility; The third is to slow the process of desertification and improve the ecological environment of the oasis through the application of water-saving technology; Fourth, through the development of the grape cultivation in Gobi Desert, effective controled windy weather in Jiujia, to a large extent improved the climate.Social benefitsThe purpose of implementation of the vineyard drip irrigation under plastic film technology in Jiayuguan is to save a great deal of water resources, reduce water pressure, and ease water conflicts; second is to improve the quality of grapes and fruit production ; third is to enhance the business skills, training and creating a large number of professionals through technical training; forth ,to provide a strong practical experience with the Gobi Desert Park's success; finally to summarize a right irrigation mode for the viticulture in Gobi.
