With urbanization, industrialization and population growth reaching their peaks, our country is in the important strategic period of the Economic and Social Development. Land utilization and balance of supply and demand for land are facing the growing pressure of use scale, space and environment for the rising resources and environmental constraints. Development zone, as an important area for urbanization and industrialization development, promotes not only the rapid development of economy and society but also Industry Upgrading, Regional Development and Technical Innovation. There are some problems, such as uncontrolled land use total, irrational land use structure, and inefficient land use, during the land use of development zone. Thus, the contradiction between land supply and demand has become increasing prominent, and the use of land resources are under increasing pressure. Therefore, the research of land intensive use and the potential estimate of development zone is not only benefit for the development of land utilization theory, but also provides helpful reference for the practice of making use of land rationally to stick to sustainable development road in our country. This paper, on the basis of urban land economics and sustainable development theories, mainly discuss the following several aspects:Introduction to topic background, reality meaning, the current research situation both at home and abroad, then outlining the major contents and methods of this paper. The first chapter, on the basis of formers' theory production, makes definite the connotation of intensive land use, especially in development zone. And then discussing the basic theory of intensive use of urban in a systematic way.In chapter 2, analyzing the macro background of Dalian Development Zone, and then introducing the current situation of land utilization. In chapter 3, evaluating the intensive use of Dalian Development Zone by the methods presented in the current specifications, then using Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation to verify these methods. Through comparing results of two evaluation methods, we can come to the conclusion that they match well. At last, it proposes a district evaluation, the results of which can reflect the level of land intensive use more specifically, more intuitively and more appropriately, and applies this method to Dalian Development Zone.In chapter 4, based on the above evaluation results and present conditions of intensive use of Dalian Development Zone, putting forward some suggestions of land intensive use. And then ended with an expectation for further research.
