The Relationship Research On Industrial Cluster And Regional Competitiveness

With the coming of knowledge economy, man is beginning a new era of global competition. The local competition is more intense. Therefore,areas devote positively in enhancing the regional competitiveness, creating competitive advantage, promoting the regional economies. At the same time, industrial cluster has been a new organization of industrial space configuration, it is a prevalent phenomenon in today's regional economy, which obtains a tremendous success either in the high-tech or the traditional fields. Industrial cluster is becoming a vital way to acquire competitive advantages for country and regions, it has been an important strategic tool in dealing with the globalized challenge. The research have indicated that the industrial cluster as one kind of new area development theory, it emphasizes the regional labor division, but also emphasized the function of conforming to the region resources, meanwhile, the theory particularly emphasizes the function of technology advancement and technological innovation, it is one kind of area development theory that suits the China national condition.The regional economies development is not balanced, this is our country's essential feature, it has related to non-balanced developmental strategy of regional economics. So, the government has proposed the strategic plan of the western exploitation in 1999. This implementation has already obtained huge success, but the phenomenon of our regional economics development imbalanced has still been very austerity. Under the goal of building harmonious society, reducing the development disparity and realizing the regional coordinated development have been very important. Chongqing is the only municipality in western area, shoulders the responsibility of leading the development of the entire Yangtze River upstream and the southwest, The development of entire western and along the river area has some relation to the speed and the quality of Chongqing development. Therefore, in this paper take Chongqing for example to researching the relationship between industrial cluster and regional competitiveness.In this paper, by using the theories of industrial cluster and regional competitiveness, and adopting the methods of the qualitative and quantative analysis, studying the inner link of them, thus we can deepen the theoretical research of this question. Meanwhile, this article take Chongqing's transportation equipment manufacturing industry cluster as an example, has done the empirical study between industrial cluster and regional competitiveness, so the conclusion is more objective.This article divides into five parts. Chapter one studies the research status of industrial cluster and regional competitiveness both at home and abroad; Chapter two carries on the relative theory of industrial cluster and regional competitiveness. Chapter three is empirical analysis, firstly, cluster industry has been chosen through calculating the local quotient. Secondly, establish index systems of industrial cluster and regional competitiveness, using varied coefficient method to determinate the weight of index systems. Then use the Pearson Correlation Coefficient and co-integration analysis to analysis the relationship between industrial cluster and regional competitiveness. Chapter four study existing problems and countermeasures on Chongqing's industrial cluster. In this part propose policy and measures of Chongqing's industry cluster on the basis of empirical analysis. Provide reference for local government's decision-making.
