According to Boeing's latest civil aircraft market's annual forecast over the next 20 years, China needs nearly 3,400 new aircraft. In face of China's fleet unprecedented prospects, how China's air transport carriers choose aircraft is an important issue necessary to be examined. To this end, operational performance requirements that affect aircraft choice, aircraft performance analysis standards and methods, as well as economic analysis of aircraft operation are studied thoroughly and systematically. Then, specific requirements and a methodology for aircraft choice performance analysis is proposed, and a mathematical model of aircraft choice economic analysis is established.Domestic and international status quo of research on aircraft fleet planning and aircraft choice are considered first, and two issues which should be focused on about aircraft choice (aircraft performance analysis and economic analysis) are proposed, and then aircraft operational requirements and limitations are summarized by analyzing the relevant regulations and normative documents. Secondly, the standards and methods of aircraft performance analysis for aircraft choice by three major stage of aircraft operation are proposed by analyzing the relevant provisions of CCAR25 and CCAR121, the feasibility is illustrated through an example.Finally, three classification methods of route operating cost are discussed, a better way is selected through comparison. Then, an aircraft choice model based on the operating cost minimum was established, and further analysis of two important factors which affect aircraft choice was carried on to improve the mathematical model. So, a mathematical model integrated with load factors and network structure is established, the feasibility is illustrated through an example.
