The Study On The Strategy For Development Of Tianjin Port-surrounding Industrial Cluster

In the 21st century, the port has placed a much more significant role on communicating commodity producers, energy and raw materials suppliers and products consumers, increasingly becoming the best location for modern industrial clustering and the bridge for human civilization across to the ocean, and accordingly the port-surrounding industry has been surging up within the framework of the world.As China's coastal cities further opening to the outside world, Port-Surrounding Industrial Processing Zone and Bonded Logistics Parks has broadly risen in various coastal cities, developing to the city's new economic growth points. And also, the port, because of its unique geographical advantages and the relevance of business, has gradually transferred from simple cargo transshipment center into a comprehensive set with various functions. Therefore, the industrial cluster is also increasingly clear.The sustained and rapid development of China's foreign trade has brought good opportunities to the prosperity of Bohai Sea port cities. Confronted with the fierce competition between the ports, Tianjin Port is in the urgent need to accelerate the development of port-surrounding industries, so as to further improve the competitiveness of port itself. Since the port has the general characteristics of cluster, the theory of industrial cluster can be applied effectively to improve the Tianjin Port's overall competitiveness, with its overall attitude to participate in international competition in the market.This paper applied the theory of industry cluster to port-surrounding industry, using methods combining theoretical and empirical research and integrating qualitative and quantitative research for systematic and comprehensive study on the development strategy of the Tianjin port-surrounding industrial cluster.The article is divided into six chapters: the first chapter is a brief introduction of the paper, including the background and significance of the topics, review on domestic and international research, the technical line of the paper; the second chapter is the theoretical research of port-surrounding industrial cluster, in addition to the definitions of the industrial cluster, the port-surrounding industry, the port-surrounding industrial cluster and the socio-economic effects of the port-surrounding industrial cluster, which also introduced the advanced foreign experience in the development of the port-surrounding industrial cluster; the third chapter of the article is part of empirical research, that is to say, the comprehensive analysis of Tianjin port-surrounding industry ; in terms of the quantitative analysis, this paper mainly studied the relationship between the throughput of Tianjin Port and the GDP of Tianjin City, the trend of port throughput in Tianjin, the industrial clustering degree of Tianjin port-surrounding industry and the contribution to GDP of pillar Tianjin port-surrounding industries, which is the focus and difficulty; on the basis of the above qualitative and quantitative analysis, theoretical research and empirical research, Chapter five further raised strategic planning and strategic measures of the development of Tianjin Port-surrounding industrial cluster; in the conclusions of the article, the paper summed up the work done in this paper, pointed out inadequacy of the paper and proposed the future outlook for further research.
