The Tactic Of Developing Container Terminals Of Liaoning Coastal Ports

Liaoning coastal ports are the gateway of entering Northeast China. And the generation of container throughput of these ports depends on the economic development of Northeast China, especially depends on the development of the foreign trade. In 2003, the Central Government and the State Department decided to implement "the Strategy of Revitalizing Northeast China and Other Old Industrial Bases" and make Dalian Port as the International Shipping Center of Northeast Asia based on the statement and the advantages of Liaoning Coastal Ports. The Revitalizing Strategy affords a great opportunity to accelerate the development of Liaoning coastal ports.However, due to the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure in the Northeast China is very difficult, as well as the market of foreign trade is not active enough, GDP proportion in the whole country showed an annual decline and import and export growth is also lower than the national average. Compared with Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and other advanced provinces, the gap of development is still widening. The container throughput growth of Liaoning coastal ports is also lower than Yangtze River Delta ports, Pearl River Delta ports and Shandong coastal ports, and the share in China ports decline every year. At the same time, with the competition from surrounding ports increasing, the development of Liaoning coastal ports, especially the development of container transport still faces serious challenges. It is very essential to decide how to face the opportunities and challenges, and how to enhance overall competitiveness of the container transport of Liaoning coastal ports. Hereby it is provided with practical significance and research value to carry out the study onto the development strategy of the container transport of Liaoning coastal ports.This article bases on the analysis of the economic development trend in Northeast China and analyze the development trend of container transportation and the competition environment of Liaoning coastal ports. Then it forecasts the container throughput volume in Liaoning coastal ports in the next years and makes a conclusion that the developing trend of the container transportation in Liaoning coastal ports is to integrate the ports' resource and enhance the overall competitiveness. By the end, based on SWOT analysis, it gives some suggestions on implementing resource integration in Liaoning coastal ports.
