Great domestic demand exists in the rural areas in china. Agriculture plays a basic role in achieving stable and rapid economic development. We need to pay much attention on helping the farmers to advance their welfare. Accelerating the development of modern agriculture in less developed areas is particularly important to solve problems in those areas.Several research methods are used in the thesis, such as Data Statistics, In-depth Interviews, Brainstorm and Expert Meetings. The thesis consists of 5 chapters. In chapter 1, the author analyzes current situations and main problems in Huimin County in Shandong Province, and describes the main content and structure of this thesis. In chapter 2, the author focuses on analyzing the main connotation and features of modern agriculture. And on this basis, combined with the actual situation of Huimin County, the author expounds the need and feasibility to develop modern agriculture in less developed areas. In chapter 3, the author makes a deep analysis on the constraint of the advancement of modern agriculture in less developed areas. Results show that: a less level of agricultural technology, lack of agricultural inputs and innovation, and a lagging notion of agriculture development are the main constraint. In chapter 4, the author puts forward four suggestions to improve the modern agriculture development in less developed areas: establishing and enhancing a policy support system, an intern power system, a quality training system for farmers and a composite system of developing modern agriculture in less developed areas.This research provides a foundation for less developed areas to make the twelfth Five Year Plan of agriculture development. And it is guidance for upgrading the technology and specding up the development of modern agriculture in less developed areas.
