In the era of knowledge-based economy, knowledge - intensive business service (KIBS) as "second Knowledge base" begins to build a new innovative systems. Service innovation includes technological innovation as well as other kinds of innovation, and its essence is the integration of a series of knowledge. However, there is a heat debate whether University-Industry Collaboration promote service innovation in the theory, what's more, the current enterprises tend to ignored service while collaborating with universities. There are gaps between university-industry collaboration and service innovation for the enterprises .Therefore, this paper explore University-Industry Collaboration from the perspective of service innovation and find the relationship between service innovation and service innovation. This paper will also be committed to further analyze the characteristics of university-industry collaboration for service innovation.This paper firstly review the Literatures on the topic, and try to build the model of University-Industry Collaboration for service innovation based on the theories about university-Industry Collaboration, inter-organizational learning and university-industry collaboration innovation. This paper select three cases in the technology-based KIBS and the non-technology KIBS, i.e. T-KIBS and professional KIBS , from which we reveal the University-Industry Collaboration's impact on service innovation and explore its path and characteristics .Based on the studies above, and four-dimensional model this paper build the Model of University-Industry collaboration for Service Innovation (MUICSI).The model links "first knowledge base" and "second knowledge base" and gives characteristics and paths of University-Industry Collaboration's influence on service innovation, as the Knowledge Intelligence, University-Industry Collaboration , by the talent-embedded means and in forms of collaborative research, co-operation training and management consulting do the knowledge acquisition and creation, is the core of the model. It can promote the new service concept(Business Intelligence),the new client interface (Market Intelligence), the new service delivery system (Organizational Intelligence) through Knowledge management. The model provide a complete map for KIBS innovation through University-Industry Collaboration .Finally, based on the MUICSI, case study, this paper proposes related policy suggestions for the perfection and sustainable development of university-industry collaboration for service innovation.
