Research On Innovation Capabilities Of Knowledge-Intensive Business Serivce Industry

Service industry has played a dominant role as an engine of economic development of developed countries with the global economic development and industrial upgrade since 1970s. Knowledge-intensive business service industry featured by knowledge-intensive, technology-intensive and specialization-intensive is growing very fast and is becoming an integral part of the knowledge basic structure. Knowledge-intensive business service industry also plays a very important role in regional economic development and innovation system and functions as the production and reallocation of knowledge. Research on the regional differences in innovation capabilities of China's knowledge-intensive business service industry based on the analysis of innovation capabilities in Knowledge-intensive business service and regional imbalance of economic development in China is of great importance. The research aims to reveal the real reasons for the regional imbalance of economic development in knowledge-intensive business service industry by comparison and analysis of regional differences in innovation capabilities of China's knowledge-intensive business service industry and helps to support the policy in improving the development in knowledge-intensive business service industry for all areas in China.The research, based on the studies on regional innovation capabilities in knowledge-intensive business service industry, points out the innovation characteristics and main pattern of knowledge-intensive business service industry through studying service and industrial innovation theory. Then it sets up the indicators of evaluating knowledge-intensive business service industry by combining the regional innovation elements and traditional evaluating system. The research takes 12 samples such as Beijing and Shanghai and makes an analysis of regional differences in innovation capabilities of China's knowledge-intensive business service industry and finally finds out the restricting factor that hinders the development in knowledge-intensive business service industry.The conclusions of the research are as follows:(1)The innovation capabilities in knowledge-intensive business service industry are the combination of the technological and service innovation. Meanwhile, the development of knowledge-intensive business service industry is based on the industrial and regional innovation elements; (2) Despite of the rapid growth of knowledge-intensive business service industry, the gap among the different regions is widening. Generally speaking, cities like Beijing and Shanghai take the lead in the development in knowledge-intensive business service industry;(3)The main cause of the wide gap is that there is a great gap in innovation resources and environment in knowledge-intensive business service industry. Besides, the innovation capabilities in knowledge-intensive business service industry in China are divided into three classes with different characteristics through cluster analysis.
