In the period of 1920s to 2000s, the traditional mass-production mode had turned to be matured. At the same time, in half of a century, quality management was developed to be a seprate subject and experienced three stages of growing. Most of the oversead car manufacturer built their plant in China with the devolement of our automotive industry. It generated that many OEM for automotive parts built their plants in China also, some are wholly foreign-owned enterprises, some are joint venture. More and more OEM set up in Changchun after VW jointed FAW. Changchun Faureciaxuyang Automotive Seat Co., Ltd. is one of them—a joint venture following FAW-VW.With the development of Chinese Automotive Industry in the first half year of 2008, the outputs decrease sharply in the second half year of 2008 under the impacting of the recession. Most of the related company reduced their headcount in order to facing the impact of the economic decline so that they could control the loss. Nevertheless, it was raising that TRAINING OURSELVES IN THE RECESSION PERIOD and IMPROVING THE COMPETITIVE POWER in Changchun Faureciaxuyang Automotive Seat Co., Ltd. That's why use the FES Checklist, audit ourselves frequently, improve step by step. Achieve Faurecia Excellence finally. Keep the enterprise in the successful position of competitions. There're 5 chapters.Chapter 1 INTRODUCION, involved the source of the topic, the background the base of the topic selecting, the study status in both domestic and overseas and the development trend, the main significance of the topic studing, the main content of the topic studing etc.. The topic source is the practice in Changchun Faureciaxuyang Automotive Seat Co., Ltd. was generated from the quality system define the definition of QUALITY: quality is the degree of a set of characteristics meeting the requirements, and qulity developing historical phases. We got that FES was the best measurement which can improve the enterprise from Japanese Deming Circle of self-management, active management and the benchmark exceed of American Malcolm?Baldrige State Quality Prize. We concluded the gains of quality system from the case of Father's Grapery with Treasures; and we also concluded the advantage of FES from the combination of LEAN Production and 6 Sigma. The main signification of the topic studing is finding an effective process measurement so that the quality management can be used in every where of the enterprise through the improving process of Backrest line using FES. The process effect was improved by first defining the method, auditing the line, implementing the action plan, then validating again and so on using PDCA circle.Chapter2 THE RELATED REQUIREMENT OF FES, the FES checklist and its meaning, significance and the main contant and evaluating principle was introduced. There're 40 questions in FES checklist, 20 in control plan, and20 in QRQC. There're 1~5 degree in each question. Level 1 Very basic, level 2 Basic, Level 3 Above basic, Level 4 Expected, Level 5 Excellence. There's detailed description in each level of each item. That makes the audit easier, and also can reflect impersonally the real status of the company, makes the horizontal and vertical comparison easier.Chapter 3 THE ANALYSIS OF THE STATUS BEFORE IMPROVING., first simply introduce Changchun Faureciaxuyang Automotive Seat Co., Ltd.. Then audit the backrest line using the FES checklist to find the existing issues and analyze them. The content of checklist we used in the past period was not detailed, that made the audit result not stable for the understanding is different. While this one is good, so, the audit result is not affected by the auditor. It is good for improvement. THE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MEASUREMENT DESIGNATION OFBACKREST LINE, first analyze the influence factors of the backrest line. Mainly is the working instruction is not deatailed for some of the new requirements of Faurecia are not implemented, so the operator can grasp the spirite. Design improvement measurements respectively according the factors, the responsible person and the deadline should be detailed.Chapter 4 THE IMPLEMENT AND EVELUATE THE QUALITY IMPROVEMTN MEASUREMENT OF BACKREST LINE, prepare for the plan of Chapter 4 before implementing to ensure the effective. Tracing the implement status frequently so that can solve the issues we met. Then, evaluate by using FES checklist, validate the effectivity. Conculd the result, point out the quality issues that need to be improved. Chapter 5 CONCLUSION AND EXPECTATION, we found that it is a real effective method through using FES checklist. The objectivity and repeatability can not be compared and also can not be exceeded. It is proved by the practice of our company, there's no customer complaint in the past year. Both the parts quality and the quality system are improved significantly. Expect the future, the selfconfidence for Faurecia quality is raising, the quality will be better and better and the culture of quality management will be spread abroad widely with the directing of FES method.
