Research On The Purchasing And Inventory Control Of Spare Parts Base On Stochastic Demand

Iron and steel industry is the pillar industry of the economic development in China, which the state always puts on an extremely important strategic position. With the increasing development of science and technology, economy, and the integration of global market, the market competition of iron and steel industry is also increasingly fierce in China. Efficiency of enterprise production has already become the evaluation for the success, and even the sole one. Therefore, cost reduction is more importantly considered than before. As an important part to reduce costs, improve service levels and competitiveness, enterprises in China's iron and steel industry stress purchasing and inventory management of spare parts. In the past, the traditional controlling method for spare-part purchasing and inventory in promoting efficiency and reducing the cost and so forth was out of date, and not able to adapt to changing environment. The invention of the methods will bring opportunities, which will oblige people to survey the current purchasing and inventory management system of spare parts from another new perspective the steel industry.Based on reasons stated above and focusing on the perspective of the stochastic demand, this paper is to research on the punctual and fixed amount purchasing inventory control methods concerning spare parts in the iron and steel industry. In the first place, the writing analyzes the current problems of the research and application of spare-part purchasing and inventory control management in iron and steel industry both at home and abroad, then discusses about spare-part purchasing and inventory control theories as well as other related theories. In the second place, focusing on discussion of the source and form of stochastic demand for spare parts, it deals with stochastic demand of the various uncertainty form, brings forward a demand forecasting methods to improve the accuracy of demand forecasts, which, to great extent, resolves the demand forecast uncertainty under the stochastic demand for spare parts. In the meanwhile a set of combination a just-in-time purchasing strategy and a new inventory control mode associated with the inventory control method based on classification scheme using the prosperities about spare-part inventory with VMI strategy is established based on stochastic demand for spare parts, which similarly resolves the cooperation between enterprises and suppliers under the stochastic demand for spare parts, and further realize procurement information which can seamlessly and smoothly transfer between enterprise and suppliers, so that the entire supply chain of spare parts in accordance with the requirements of the stochastic demand for spare part. Finally, the paper goes on the research on the Benxi Iron and Steel Group Company's purchasing and inventory control mode and points out the existing problems. While solving the existing problems with the purpose of realizing spare parts punctual purchasing and proper amount supply based on stochastic demand, applied research is conducted on a just-in-time purchasing strategy and a new inventory control mode of the Benxi Iron and Steel Group based on stochastic demand. Though the implementation of the research on spare-part purchasing strategy and inventory control method, solutions of these problems such as serious backlog, low purchasing efficiency, difficult realization of demand under the stochastic demand for the supply of spare parts has been done so as to achieve good benefits.Based on stochastic demand, this research is in favor of promoting spare parts purchasing and inventory control theory and practice for iron and steel industry, which has significance to the same type of iron and steel industry at present.
