Land, as a carrier and basic condition in the city construction, is the most active manufacturing factor in the development of society and economy. The supply and ensuring of land has a direct impact on the space, potential and direction of urbanization construction and development. Thus regulation of land development intensity has become the important means of cities, infrastructures, regulation and control of population intensity, creation of good environment quality as well as good living space, and realization of cities, sustainable development. When the trend of the economy efficiency obviously, the destruction of the environment becomes more serious. As a direct guidance to the development and construction of urban planning important indicator of the intensity of development land, and how to meet the needs of economic interests, for the construction of the space environment has become an urgent problem, meanwhile indicators of scientific planning control more demanding.Against the background, this paper takes the central city of Wuhan as an example. Through analyzing leased land development Strength Index (floor area ratio, the height of the building) since the 1990s, aggregate spatial distribution and time changes. To the analysis of the status quo, from the theoretical research, judgment and experience in data analysis and other methods. Multi-angle impact on the intensity of land development and distribution of the factors of the in-depth study. Through the major urban areas of Wuhan City land development status and intensity of land use efficiency and space analysis, evaluation, explore major urban areas of Wuhan City land development intensity of the control of the general principles and basic ideas, for the preparation of the scientific level planning.
