Because of fierce market competition due to the development of economic globalization, current method of project management become more and more complex, and the requirement for project management also become more and more severe. The project management require shorter project duration, higher just-in-time completion rate, and less cost.Conventional method for project planning and scheduling cannot meet the practical needs of modern project management. The Critical Chain Project Management(CCPM) based on Theory of Constrained(TOC) has been recognized and researched in North America and Europe, and more and more researchers and enterprisers are focusing on the field in China.CCPM is advanced in many aspects. It can manage the uncertainty in the project more efficiently, shorter project duration, and higher management efficiency.Considered the human behavior CCPM are more practical in project execution. The most important part of CCPM is to identify the Critical Chain. Conventional methods for identifying critical chain ignore the randomicity of duration of project activities. In this thesis a method to identifying the critical chain based on statistics is proposed. It is proved that this method is effectively used, and it can not only control the project duration but also be practical.Buffer management is a valuable method to management for uncertainty in TOC, it's also adopted in CCPM. But conventional method of buffer management ignore the character of each tasks. In this thesis an adaptive method for buffer management is proposed. Test also has been made to prove that this method can shorter the size of feeding buffer and escape the resource conflict because of feeding buffer.
