Relevant data shows that the average enterprise reserve funds for the occupation of the total current assets of nearly 40%. Therefore, inventory control is an integral part of the production and operation of enterprises from beginning to end .It is the important link for enterprise to realize rising in value chain. It is the purpose that many enterprise seeks for to run the inventory efficiency and obtain a highest supply, how to control the optimal amount in inventory, Minimizing the use of human resources, material and financial. And it is also an important link for the enterprise to survive in competition.Developing with the logistics technology, many and many enterprises start to improve the logistics by applying the technology of inventory control in order to reducing the costs. The practice of the domestic and international enterprise shows that the effective inventory control not only can enhance their competitive capacity, but also can bring the huge benefits for them.Ever since a long time ago, coal enterprises are limited to the experience administration in inventory control as our country traditional industry. Though the materials are large and varied in coal mine, the traditional management ideas in inventory control are the root to lead material inventory to remain at high levels and cause serious backlog and useless materials. This paper takes Zaozhuang coal mining group as an example for the material inventory management study, guided by the principles of the modern logistics theory, and starting with analyzing the current situation of Zaozhuang coal mining group, pointing out the problem that existed in the present inventory management. According with the experience in material administration, I apply the related inventory control theory to research the enterprise's material inventory management. Then I come up with applying the basic ideas of inventory management and the inventory strategy under the management environment of supply chain in the modern logistics theory. And I explore to establish reasonable inventory in Zaozhuang coal mining group, putting forward the ways to reduce inventory. The material inventory remains at high levels in Zaozhuang coal mining group. Inaccuracy plans, the problems in supply chain management, Bullwhip effect are the main reasons. But various kinds of materials, the hugely different applications and characteristics are the basic to make different inventory managers' decision. A suitable model about material inventory control was constructed for Zaozhuang coal mining group in this paper by the application of ABC classification, quantity ordering method, JMI, VMI and other inventory control technologies. From the requirement of Zaozhuang coal mining group's development strategy in expanding logistics and improving the management, it is practical to carry out a series of means in inventory control. And it can attain the aim of controlling inventory and reducing the reserved fund. Simultaneously, this paper discusses the current situation of material transportation and raises some measures to optimize and ameliorate it concerning on the support of improving transports to material inventory control.This paper's innovation is the systematic analysis of the current situation about Zaozhuang coal mining group's material inventory management, pointing out the reasons of present problems, and putting forward some effective improving schemes. First, ABC classification and quantity ordering method were applied to manage the material inventory elaborately in Zaozhuang coal mining group, which based on the basic inventory control method. Second, the ideas of JMI and VMI are brought in Zaozhuang coal mining group, and in different types of materials, the article JMI ,VMI for the inventory management or the concrete implementation scheme are discussed and applied. Third, a new idea on the improvement of material transportation is raised. These results, not only can effectively improve inventory of management level and bring large economic benefits in Zaozhuang coal mining group, but also serve as a strong reference for other enterprises of coal industry.
