With the growth rate of global economy integration is unstoppable, logistics economy began to flourish together. For container is the most important carrier of logistics, the more global logistics develops, the much demand for containers, at the same time, theft problem happened to containers is becoming more and more serious in hundreds of countries over the world. It is clear that containers are identified by their unique container numbers in the whole process of logistics. But the veracity of traditional identification is not high enough, date collection by manual work not only easy to make mistakes but also cost much time. So, how to track and manage containers scientifically and efficiently is increasingly urgent and is very significant. The research work of the thesis is just in this background.In allusion to this problem under the global current of logistics information, it is necessary to introduce the well developed RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)technology into container transportation. The integration with RFID technology, which can overcome low information veracity and information lacking, it also can speed up container trucks to pass toll-gates as well as shorten the time spend in transportation, by the way, it fix the confusion for containers in transportation, so the transportation efficiency and management will be improved greatly. The research work of the thesis is just in this background.First of all, the author made a comparison of logistic identification technologies, point out the superiority and feasibility of applying RFID to track and manage the container transport, and give the new point which is brought from the RFID. Secondly, build up a container-tag applying system in the fist place which include three parts: RFID tag identification system, wireless communication system and RFID tag information management system, and expatiate the functions and specialties of this three parts; based on the system of the above part, the author furthers to develop the scheme and the function modules of the model in the second place which is started from the selection of the tag and the container information sort; then give the details of the container yard management module design. Thirdly, the author proved the feasibility of the RFID technology from both qualitative and quantitative, proposes some solution to the RFID restructure of containers. And the author did the cost-benefit analysis of the yard management with the dates from the SUMEX International Shipping Co. to prove the feasibility of the container RFID restructure deeply. Finally, the author makes a summary of this paper's task and analyzes the main problems remained to be solved in the further application of RFID to the container transport management.
