Along with the development of the global economy integrating, the port has become an important node of the transportation and the supply chain. Port container yard, as an important tache of the process of container transportation, is required to be automated, unmanned and shortcuted in the trend of economization, simplification and standardization in container transportation. The internal and overseas experience indicate that the advanced management of container yard logistics system will be the pivotal factor of the port. Therefore, the logistics system planning of the container yard must be paid more attention.Dayaowan port is an important container port of Dalian, and it will be the international shipping center of the Northeast Asia area in the future. This paper chiefly introduces the logistics system planning on Dayaowan Container Yard Phase II and III. It aims to improve the throughput and optimize the collecting and distributing system of the yard. It can offer the manager the best settlement of the logistics system.Firstly, the author investigates the actual logistics system of the Container Yard Phase II, and finds out the operation flow of the logistics system and technology parameters. One working year data is analyzed to gain the necessary discrete distributions. Considering the special status of the system, the mathematics optimization models of gate planning and yard resource allocation are built on the base of the system analization and investigation. Then, the author establishes the simulation model of Dayaowan Container Yard Phase II in Arena with regard to the development of the container terrinmal. In the optimal running, depending on the advanced optimation tool OptQuest, in relation to the mathematics optimization models and the analyzed data, the author researchs on the gate system planning and yard resource allocation and get some scientific parameters. The simulation results accord with the actual status of the Yard Phase II. They are scientific proof for the planning on Yard Phase III.Finally, this paper introduces the total aim of the logistics system planning on Dayaowan container Yard Phase III using simulation and optimization, and also gives some practical advices. The research method of this paper is scientific, repetitive and developmental. As an organic integer, it can be used in other traffic planning projects of the port.
