Study On Urban Land Expansion Of Nanchang City

As one type of land use that exerts the deepest influence on human beings, urban land directly relate to the harmonious development of population, economy, society, resource and environment. Since the opening up, the pace of urbanization has quickened. The expansion of urban land is and will be the main characteristic of the land use in our country. A small land with a huge population, this basic situation of our country is the underlying cause of this striking contradiction between the urban land expansion and the protection of plantation, which we have to face in the following couple of years. Whether we could properly address this contradiction or not will affect the sustainable social and economic development in our country. Thus, the study on the expansion of urban land will have significant influence on the promotion of land intensive use and protection of plantation.This article employs a comprehensive use of the relative theory in geography, economics, urban and regional planning, to investigate the change of the urban land expansion on Nanchang City, promoting the intensive use of urban land. The article firstly reviews the relative study at home and aboard, briefly introduces the basic theory of the urban land expansion. Lastly it investigates the urban land expansion on Nanchang City. The case study firstly reviews the historic development of the urban land on Nanchang City and analyzes the main characteristics of the urban land expansion. Then it does the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the driving force mechanic which influences the urban land expansion. Lastly it forecasts the urban land expansion on Nanchang City and brings forward the countermeasure of sustainable development.Through investigation, it arrives at the following main conclusions:(1) The space expansion models of urban land on Nanchang City are mainly linear development,infilling development,jumping development,extension development. It has various characteristics during different period. The urban land expansion on Nanchang City belongs to the fast-develop type. The industrial land still makes up a large part while the living land is not sufficient. The acreage of green space per capita is obviously small. The intensive level of urban land use on Nanchang city is not high and the effectiveness of land usage still needs improvement.(2) The river and lake are the natural screens of urban land expansion on Nanchang City. The important reason and basic driving force for the urban land expansion on Nanchang City is the development of population and economic. The development of urban transportation promotes the outer shape change on Nanchang city, which directs the urban land expansion. The policy as well as the planning adjust and direct the urban land expansion on Nanchang City. The resident needs special influence on the urban land expansion on Nanchang City. Through the relative analysis of the driving force for land expansion, we know that the population growth and transportation construction promote the urban land expansion on Nanchang city.
