With the global economic integration and regional incorporation increasingly developing from the mid of 1980's, Europe Union, North America Free Trade Area and other incorporated organizes in the world have continually been established. The Asia, however, has no single formal economic integration today for the reasons of history, politics and economy, which greatly lagged the growth of countries in this area.Since the end of the 20th century, along with the globalization of the world economy and regional economic integration, a constant wave of development, sub-region economic cooperation forms appear as a progressive development of economic globalization and regional integration complementary forms in the world. In Southeast Asia, there is a large and diverse form of sub-region cooperation model too, which revolves around the Mekong river Basin development cooperation. It has emerged different mechanisms of cooperation. The "Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Cooperation (GMS) mechanism" is a comprehensive development mechanism which is supported by the Asian Development Bank .This mechanism was established by the Asian Development Bank in 1992, it is one of the largest and most effective cooperative mechanisms to promote sub-region cooperation in the Mekong basin River-starting. The cooperation involves six countries, including Myanmar, Laos, Yunnan Province and Guangxi province of China, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam and is aimed at strengthening the adoption of the economic link among member states to promote regional economic and social development. The GMS is based on equality, mutual trust and a mutual benefit basis. It is pragmatic mechanism from which developing countries get mutually beneficial cooperation, joint-mechanism, and a strengthening of economic links through the promotion of regional economic and social development. Cooperation covers eight fields such as: transportation, communication, energy, tourism, environment, human resources development, trade and investment, interdiction of drugs production.This dissertation, based on international trade theories, regional economic theories and geographical economics theories, applies both qualitative and quantitative analysis in small sub-regional economic area. In the first section, the author analyses the different opinions from different scholars, and on the basis of them, the author summarizes and proposes own opinion on the conception, the border effect and the way to the sub-regional economic integration. In the second section, I illustrate and compare the differences in economy, politics cultural and among those three areas and countries.In the next part, based on the analysis in first section, I probe the way to realize the corporation and formalize the principle and strategies in promoting trade.In the last section, specific and executable policy suggestions are provided, especially for traveling corporation between Yunnan and Guangxi province.
