The Greater Mekong Sub-region, with increasingly promoted cooperation among its members, has been making great progress in recent years. It is well known that developing coordination in the sub-region has contributed to southeastern Asia's economy integration to China's, even to the eastern Asia's, and it's of huge significance to the countries related and therefore draw a lot of attention from countries both inside and outside the sub-region.The thesis is to analyze China's participation in the sub-regional collaboration, including context, content, achievements gained as well as difficulties accounted, and to propose some solutions to advance the development of the cooperation. The thesis is divided into five parts. In the first part, a brief introduction with background and significance of the research is presented, which is followed with short review of the research conducted both home and abroad. During the second part, we introduced the sub-regional economic cooperation theory applied in this thesis. Based on the theory, we concluded the importance of trade and investment in the sub-regional cooperation. The third part digs the cooperation's features in depth and states the key difficulties during cooperation. The forth part lists the items that Chinese companies are participating in. Last but not least, the fifth part draws some policy suggestions to the future collaboration based on the previously mentioned theory and facts.
