An Comprehensive Analysis And Evaluation Of The Economic Impacts Of Tourism In Xinjiang

The research on the impact of tourism economy is always one of the influences of tourism researches.With the rapid development of tourism, tourism industry plays a significant role in the regional economy. And at the same time, the impact of tourism economy has become a hot topic in the field of science and government.The revenue of 2002 of tourism in Xinjiang is 5.23% of the GDP, and tourism has drived almost every section of national economy. But it lacks the relative research, especially such problems like how much tourism creates income and employment for regional economy, and related degree with other industries, and tourism sustainable development haven't been solved yet. Therefore, it has the great significance to Xinjiang by studying the theory and practice of tourism impact. The research result will have some meaning for developing tourism economy, laying down relative policies for the government.The paper has eight main parts:The first part introduces the concerned concept of tourism economic impact briefly, the actuality of the study home and abroad and indicates the sense of study,and also provides the framework of this article,illustrate the train of reason and the emphasis of study.The second part states the current status of Xinjiang tourism economy and indicates the special characteristic of tourism economy in Xinjiang , Taking 15 regions,states and cities of Xinjiang as regional study unit and use the data concerned as index,the overall difference of provincial tourism economy in 1996-2006 is analyzed.The Part Three, Part Four,Part Five,Part Six are the cores of this article, which analyze in detail the economic impacts resulted from tourism industry in Xinjiang. By using tourist multiplier theory, Input-output model and the flexibility theory, the impact on regional GDP, industrial linkage, employment capacity, demand elasticity are analyzed in these parts.The Part Seven is also the emphasis of this article. Based on the critical evaluation of the present day popular viewpoint,this part makes an analysis of the industrial status of tourism industry.It draws a conclusion that the tourism industry of Xinjiang should be positioned as mothball mainstay industry.In the eight part, some advice to sustain tourism growth and exert tourism economic impact in Xinjiang is presented on the basis of analysis mentioned above.
