In recent years,as market-oriented reform of interest rate advanced and WTO transition period ended,competition in Chinese banking becomes much severe,profit of traditional operations constantly reduces at the same time.In order to seek and increase the profit,the commercial banks begin to focus on the intermediary business.With the character of low risk,high profit and great potential of innovation,intermediary business turns into new field of banking competition.Chinese commercial banks realize structural change necessity of management and revenue.It should be the direction of Chinese commercial bank reform that consistently developing intermediary business,increasing revenue method of commercial bank and raising proportion of non-interest revenue.It is the urgent problem to properly look on the importance and to ffectively adopt measurement of intermediary business development,for Chinese commercial banks including Agricultural Bank of China.These issues have significant importance for promoting intermediary business increasing of Agricultural Bank of China,enhancing its competency,consummating function circumstance of Chinese financial system and accelerating the integration with the world market for Chinese banks.Presently,the revenue of intermediary business in commercial banks is increasing year by year,however there are still some obstacles for its further development.This thesis starts from the basic concept of intermediary business,combining with related theories and analyses,and compares their development status in China and abroad.It takes Guangzhou Branch of Agricultural Bank of China as an example,associated with questionnaires for further practicality analyzing,to explore shortage of its intermediary business. The extant problems includes misunderstanding of basic concept,weak competency in market,outdated marketing concepts and means,faultiness system of management and assessment etc.According to reason of the extant problems,this thesis also raises countermeasure of intermediary business for its sustainable development and explores the development direction of intermediary business in Guangzhou Branch of Agriculture Bank of China.The countermeasure mainly includes changing basic concept and giving importance to intermediary business development,innovating operations and products and improving the service,consummating marketing system and improving management,training professional talents and completing promoting and assessing system,enhancing risk management and supervision.
