With the moderate rate of domestic economic development, the society is increasingly demanding for transportation service to which is more specialised and varied, creating premium external environment for speical containers' development. At the same time, China railway special container transportation's service level and market share is decreasing inconsistent with soaring market demand.Due to limited transportation capacity of China railway, it is mandatory to enhance its inner enlarged production capacity with the help of advanced research on resources optimal allocation solution in order to exemplify its unique strengths in the market. Taking advantage of scientific approach, critical measures such as special containers selection, optimal spatial structure should be taken as well to ensure the optimised solutions for resources allocation and facility arrangements, which would comprehensively leverage railway transportation competency arising significant marketing effect both strategically and practically to the development of specialized railway logistics pracitce.This dissertation has illustrated the general market segments, evaluated the efficiency by applying the DEA methodology, and predicted the market potentials using Fuzzy-Gray methodology for China railway special container transportation development as well as overseas situation. Based on the theory of rail special containers optimal allocation, a devised combination of model and algorithm should be considered as the solution for China railway special containers development strategy.
