Rural tourism becomes a hotspot while leisure tourism becomes more popular than sightseeing, and it is also an important form of ecotourism. It is inevitable that rural tourism will become more and more popular in the process of industrialization and urbanization. The multiple benefits of rural tourism on economy, society and ecology, impels rural economic development, and the related problems on management, planning and design have become more and more serious.At the same time, rural issues are the core and key for development of China, and the rural areas in hilly-mountain areas have a high incidence of poverty. The fragile ecological environment, Low-level economic development, and the backward background of mountainous villages make them need scientific guidance in industry positioning and rural reconstruction. Mountainous villages can develop rural tourism by space renewal which based on resource advantages. Meanwhile the development of rural tourism can promote the organic renewal of villages. This is an effective way for balance urban and rural development, reinforce eco-environmental construction and transition of rural Industry.This thesis studies the renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages for rural tourism development, and chooses the villages in outskirts of Chongqing as research objects. It discusses the principles and strategies of combine the village space, buildings and landscapes with rural tourism from overall planning to monomer design, including how to coordinate the development of rural industries and tourism functions, how to reconstruction the existing village space to satisfy tourism activities, how to replace building functions to adapt to tourism development, etc. therefrom seek the strategies to explore mountain villages, research the special requirements and methods of renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages, and provide reference for sustainable development of mountainous rural areas like southwest Sichuan, northwest Guizhou and so on.The thesis is divided into 6 chapters:Chapterâ… : Introduction. This part introduces the background of renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages in our country, the research subject, purpose, significance and research framework.Chapterâ…¡: This chapter will make a summary of the related theory and examples about rural tourism and renewal of mountainous villages, and discuss the influencing factors and the significance of the development of rural tourism in mountainous villages, find out the landscape features of mountainous villages and the related evaluation criteria for rural tourism development.Chapterâ…¢:This chapter will discuss the significance and the market characteristics of renewal and reconstruction of villages for rural tourism development in outskirts of Chongqing, investigate the present situation of rural tourism development in Chongqing from market background, policy context, resources,etc.research the village development and analysis the related problems on rural tourism development.Chapter IV: Research on the principles of renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages for rural tourism development in view of humanization, ecological, and overall control of the multi-level renewal, and discuss the pre-planning of explore the rural tourism based on the reconstruction of the mountainous villages.Chapter V: Study on the strategies of renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages for rural tourism development including overall planning, external space design, public space design, building renewal and community involvement in the view of village planning, landscape design and architecture design.Chapter VI: Conclusion. This chapter will get a general conclusion about the layout, single design after taking a study of renewal and reconstruction of mountainous villages for rural tourism development.
