Research On County-level Economic Development Of Weifang City

In national economy, county-level economies occupy a significant and special position. Counties are conjuncts of central & local governments, rural & urban areas, and macro and micro economies. They are also important links to implement the guidelines and policies of central, provincial and municipal governments to the grassroots level. For the city of Weifang, it is an important and urgent strategic task at present and in near future to speed up the growth of county economies and promote their overall economic strength.Since the reform and opening up policy, the county-level economies of Weifang City have made considerable progress. Through years of development, the county-level infrastructural facilities have been unceasingly strengthened, the financial revenue on county level and farmers'per capita income has also increased year on year, the countryside appearance is undergoing profound transformation, and county-level economies of Weifang have entered important development phase. However, compared with developed areas, there's still a big gap, which mainly displays in its small economic scale, weak strength and competitive power, etc.First, this paper introduces the objective and meaning of the research. By drawing upon the domestic research results of county-level economies, it explains the basic concept, meaning, and basic features of county-level economies. Through field investigation, study and statistical analysis of 8 counties (cities) of Weifang, this paper makes a general evaluation of the present situation and basic features of Weifang's county-level economies on a scientific and objective basis. Through the study of the radiation function, level of reform and opening up and construction of factor market, this paper analyzes the inner reasons for constraining the development of county-level economies. The paper puts equal emphasis on theory and feasibility, and puts forward some feasible suggestions and practical solutions for developing county-level economies of Weifang.
