Research Of Technological Progress And Its Influential Factors On Chinese Equipment Manufacturing Industry

Equipment manufacturing industry is a foundation stone of the national economic development.So its technological progress becomes a very important subject which we have to face when going the new way of industrialization. On the base of analyzing the mechanism of technological progress on Chinese equipment manufacturing industry in the framework of New Growth Theory,this Paper explores the models and approaches of technological progress on Chinese equipment manufacturing industry. The results showed that the interrelationship exists among every approaches,while endogenous innovation approach becames the pivot that can effect others to some extent.Meanwhile, by using panel data,we study the Production Function of technological progress on Chinese equipment manufacturing industry from an empirical view and reckon its capital stock and technological progress rate, The results showed that technological progress was the major contribution to economic growth of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry , with a lower capital contribution ratio and a labor contribution ratio of some positive function during 1999 to 2002.However, capital became the main driving force to economic growth of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry,with a lower technological progress contribution ratio and a worse labor contribution ratio after 2003. From the whole aspect,although these technological progress levels are different in each sub-trade,they both present an obvious upward trend in their levels while a upward trend in the former,then a downward trend in their growth rate.From a view by stages,their growth rate present upward at first and then downward largely,at last upward again. The rising inflexion is almost 2002 or 2003,and 2006.In the end,we study how endogenous innovation ability,imported knowledge ability, industrial scale, Knowledge Spillover degree and other factors influence technological progress on Chinese equipment manufacturing industry by multiple linear regression method .It draws a conclusion that technological progress on Chinese equipment manufacturing industry has been significantly promoted by technology introduction,the number of scientists and engineers, and the driving ability of high-tech industry,partly by ownership structure,industrial scale with a little volatility.But fund of scientific and technical activities, the digestion and absorption of technology have not been validated through a practical instance.This paper's policy implications will be helpful to present transformation of industrial structure and growth mode of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry.
