The equipment manufacturing industry,providing technical and equipment support for the development of social economic development and other industries,is the strategic pillar industry,namely the Pillars of Great Power.It is the main field of the national supply side structural reform and technological innovation.What's more,it is the important engine to promote transformation and upgrading of industries and the change of economic development patterns,to realize the history leap from manufacturing power to the manufacturing powerhouse.In the begining of development of China,equipment manufacturing industry in China,depending on its late developing superiority,has realized the overall scale expansion and the accumulation of technology level at a lower cost and a faster speed by virtue of a series of measures of technology introduction.However,as China enters the new normal state of economic,characterized by power transformation and structural adjustment,the economic growth mode driven by investment and cheap labor is unsustainable.What's worse,with the rise of trade protectionism,such as in 2018,the Trump Administration launched a trade war against China,imposing tariffs on high-tech products such as machinery and equipment,aerospace and other high-tech products.This trade protection policy,which is considered to be aimed at curbing China's technological strength and the effect of "Made in China 2025",undoubtedly poses a great threat to China's mode of technological catching-up through technology importation.It is particularly difficult to achieve technological progress or even catch-up through technology importation.Meanwhile,with the accumulation of technology,independent innovation is another high cost,low success rate,long long way of technological progress.In this context,how to realize the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry is one of the major challenges at present.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to analyze the influencing factors of China's equipment manufacturing technology progress path and explore the internal factors that promote the path transformation for the optimization and upgrading of China's equipment manufacturing industry and even the whole economy.Based on this,chosing the technology progress path selection of the equipment manufacturing industry in China as the research object,starting from the description of the characteristics of the Chinese equipment manufacturing industry technology progress path fact,after that,according to classic studies in the theory of endogenous growth,exploring all reason for the choice of China's equipment manufacturing industry technology progress path,and then analyzing the influence of the real technology progress path selection of the Chinese equipment manufacturing industry on China's economic growth.Finally,the corresponding policy recommendations are proposed according to the research conclusion.This paper is divided into seven chapters,the specific content is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction.This part firstly briefly introduces the research background,research purpose and significance of this paper,at the same time defines the concept of equipment manufacturing industry,and then generalizes the research content of this paper and the structural connection between chapters,and finally summarizes the main research strategies and possible innovation points of this paper.The second chapter is literature review.Firstly,the way to choose the path of technological progress is expounded from exogenous and endogenous aspects.Then the methods of measuring technological progress,such as Solow residual method,data envelopment analysis method and stochastic frontier analysis method,are introduced.Then the relevant theories of technological progress path selection are analyzed.Finally,the research is reviewed and future research directions are proposed.The third chapter describes the development status of China's equipment manufacturing technology progress.First,overall description statistical analysis are careied out for China's current situation of the development of equipment manufacturing industry.Then,it analyzes the development of present situation and the spatial distribution pattern in detail of the seven subdivision industries.After that,it summarizes the regional evolution characteristics of the equipment manufacturing industry,and finally from the use of technology import costs and R&D spending index of different levels,it depicts the technological progress of the equipment manufacturing industry in China's current path.The fourth chapter is an empirical observation of the evolution of Chinese equipment manufacturing technology.First it specifies the measure index of the technical level of the equipment manufacturing industry,total factor productivity,and then it selects the beyond the logarithmic form of stochastic frontier analysis method,using various statistical yearbook data to measure total,subregional and subdivision industry TFP from the macro-level of equipment manufacturing.In the end,based on Chinese industrial enterprise database data,using the OP method to measure the total factor productivity of the overall,different industries,different regions and different ownership of enterprises.It supplies the intuitive depicts and analyztion of space-time evolution law of TFP.In chapter 5,the choice of technological progress path of China's equipment manufacturing industry is theoretically analyzed from the supply side and the demand side.Firstly,human capital and institutional factors are incorporated into the analysis of the model on the basis of the traditional theoretical model.Then,by distinguishing between the two modes of technological progress,namely technology introduction and independent research and development,the paper better analyzes the impact of human capital,system and other factors on independent research and development enterprises.In addition,by comparing the profit difference between technology innovation enterprises and technology imitation enterprises,the real choice process of enterprises on the path of technological progress is analyzed.Finally,taking Hotelling model including retention price as the core instrument,introducing enterprises' technological innovation behavior on this basis,this paper explores the influencing factors of technological progress path selection of Chinese equipment manufacturing enterprises from the demand side.Numerical results show that the economic development,the increase in the amount of human capital can promote independent innovation class equipment manufacturing industry technical progress,the profit level has a certain role in promoting,at the same time,represented by intellectual property system of factors on the technological progress and the influence of profit larger efforts,can improve the enthusiasm of technology innovation and the demand side factors will make the equipment manufacturing industry limited pricing,may be the motivation of technological innovation is weakened,and the government r&d subsidy to the innovation class manufacturing,also can promote the development of technology in the equipment manufacturing industry in China.The sixth chapter is the analysis of the impact of the choice of technology path on the macro economy.By constructing the dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model,including the technology introduction equipment manufacturing department,independent innovation equipment manufacturing department,the production department of final products and the representative consumption department,through numerical simulation,the impact of the progress path of technology introduction and independent innovation on the macroeconomic growth is discussed.The result of numerical simulation shows that technology import has a stronger pulling effect on economy and total employment than the independent innovation,but the human capital is weaker.The same technological progress has a different impact on the number of enterprises.Because of technology import equipment manufacturing technology progress,the pull of economy is larger,which in turn will promote bigger demand for the equipment manufacturing industry product,therefore,demand supply increases,thus technology introduction class equipment manufacturing departm'ent is rapidly expanding,industry profit increasing,the number increased dramatically.But it also creates a certain amount of overentry.When the economy gradually returns to steady state,industry profits will gradually decline and enterprises will gradually withdraw.However,due to the large number of enterprises entering in the early stage,the number of enterprises withdrawing will be larger,and then the steady state will be returned.Chapter 7 gives a brief description of the research conclusions and corresponding policy Suggestions.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in three aspects.(1)as the largest developing country and a major equipment manufacturer,China is bound to encounter problems unique to the industry in the transition from technology import to independent R&D driven development.Taking equipment manufacturing industry as the research object,this paper systematically describes and analyzes the technological progress path of equipment manufacturing industry considering the imbalance of regional development and the heterogeneity of subdivided industries,which enriches the perspective of existing literature research.(2)the use of data from various statistical yearbook and industrial enterprise databases respectively,estimating the total factor productivity of the equipment manufacturing industry from the macro level and micro level is more comprehensive,thus,it can illuminates the industry average level of the internal business productivity and the the macro level and regional segmentation industry technology progress level of equipment manufacturing industry.(3)from the perspectives of the supply side and demand side,this paper constructs the theory model for describing the equipment manufacturing industry technology progress path,theoretically explores the choice of equipment manufacturing enterprise technological progress.In addtion,it uses the dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model to explore different types of technological progress influence on the macroeconomic level,which enriches the theoretical basis of choosing the technical progress path of equipment manufacturing industry.
