This paper takes the virtual team as the study object,to study how to make the Performance management well on different stages of the life cycle.Virtual team means a team that breaks out the characters of traditional team,achieves the source portfolio fastest and best by crossing the borders of time,space and organization,and completes the specific tasks of the team by network communication and collaboration. In the first part of my paper,I present the relevant concept,research,characters of virtual team,life-cycle theory,performance management by the research result from home and broad study,and define the definition involved,such like the character in different stage means the task characters,performance management are divided into two aspects,that are task performance and contextual performance.The first hypotheses:a virtual team can be divided into several stages according to the life cycle and it has the significant characteristics in various stages.The second hypotheses:a virtual team has three aspect characters,structure,task,member and every of them has several dimensions.The third hypotheses:on the different stage,a virtual team has the different task character.The fourth hypotheses:the task character effects the performance management.In the second part,I summarize the meaning of virtual team by the research before as well as presenting the characters from three aspects,structure,task,member.Then,the four hypotheses are proved by case study and questionnaire survey.When analyzing the fourth hypotheses,I make a regression analysis for task and contextual performance and have a quantitative analysis for the impact with the result building a Modeling Quantitative Valuation,so that we can make a more concrete study in the future.At last,we can conclude that on the life cycle,the factors that will impact member task performance are Task Autonomy,Task Identity,and Task dependent on internet;The factors that will impact member contextual performance are Skill Variety,Task Autonomy and Task Feedback;the factors that will impact team task performance are Task Feedback,Skill Variety,Task Autonomy and Task dependent on internet;the factors that will impact team contextual performance are Task Autonomy and Task Feedback.The purpose of this paper is to provide an effective way for enterprise to operate an effective performance management.The thought can be taken for all enterprises,though not every virtual team will utilizes the virtual team.
