Empirical Research On Competitiveness Of Listed Banks Of China

With the acceleration of the process of economic globalization,the international competitiveness,especially the financial competitiveness,has become increasingly intensively.Compared with commercial banks in developed countries such as Europe and the United States,competitiveness of our commercial banks needs to be improved. However,research in this area has just begun in China.How to evaluate the competitiveness correctly and find the main influence factors and their impact on the competitiveness is an essential aspect to enhance the general competitiveness of commercial banks.As the limit of data,this paper only choose the listed banks of China.This paper seeks to combine the actual situation of our country,summarizes the existing study, make the use of modern economic and financial theory to set up the evaluation index system of competitiveness,make the use of statistical models to make research on the competitiveness of our commercial banks,in order to induce the causes and countermeasures.In the introduction part,we first introduce the study background,the perspective of the shareholders and the structure.In the second part,we summarize the main research of competitiveness,especially the research of commercial banks, internationally and locally.Then,based on the existing research,we set up the suitable evaluation index system of the competitiveness of listed banks from the profitability,safety,liquidity,the market share and development.Using the statistical methods of factor analysis,we carry out the score of competitiveness of fourteen listed domestic commercial banks.Using the score as the explained variable,we make the linear regression so as to study the key influence factor of competitiveness.Based on the empirical analysis,we give suggestions to improve the competitiveness of our listed banks.Based on the research of this paper,we conclude that our listed banks should concentrate on the following aspects so as to improve their competitiveness.(1) Enhance the cost advantage.(2)Expand the scale effectively.(3)Improve the corporate governance.(4)Improve the capital adequacy ratio.(5)Enhance the capacity of financial innovation.
