Forest issues have been attracting more attention in the international community in the past thirty years as eco-environment depravation expanded. They have become more important and complicated on international political agendas and got more economic and polictial pursuits together, such as international markets of wood-productions and raw materials, transfer of environmental sound technologies, soft power.This paper adopted literature research methodology and integrated the economic, political and sustainable forest management ideaologies. Firstly, the history of international forest issues and international dialogues was briefly described and discussed. Then, five main forest topics are chose and analyzed, as well as major resolutions and achievements on forest and different stances on international forest issues and influences for China forestry development.Main results were concluded as following. International forestry dialogues facilitated and improved human understanding and realization on the dilemma and challenge global forest facing, and solidified the role of forestry authorities, and contributed to reverse the loss of forest cover worldwide and forest degradation. Although most topics expanded from sustainable forest management on agendas of international forestry dialogues, economic benefit and discourse were the underlying reason of various attitudes on international forest issues. Economic and political conflicts will extend to more international forest iusses at the changing international situation. As to Chinese forestry, international forestry dialogues provided opportunity as well as challenge. Some reforms and forestry policies and regulations should be adopted and implemented to promote sustainable forest management as soon as possible.
