The Influence Of The Geographical Factors On The Behavior Of Multiple Job-Holding Of Rural Households

Rural households, cells of the society, are the main body of the village economy in micro-scale. And the rural households, both consumer and producer, are the main organization in less-developed rural area. The multiple job-holding behaviors of rural households have been becoming as the most prevailing factor of economic development in rural areas. The multiple job-holding behaviors is not only concerning development orientation of the individual household and transitional rural economy, but also affecting economic development in the whole agricultural areas and the success or failure of new rural construction. However, the multiple job-holding behaviors are influenced greatly by different geographical environment. Our land is majority, a significant difference between the geographical environments. And in different geographical there is a great different between the multiple job-holding behaviors. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyze the variance of the multiple job-holding behaviors under different geographical conditions from the perspective of rural households. On this basis, identify the influence of the geographic environmental factors on the multiple job-holding behaviors to guide the classification of agricultural area.This paper uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. And analyze the variance of the multiple job-holding behaviors in different geographical environment from sub-indicators and overall. This paper uses multiple linear regression method, from households and village-level, to deal with 591 households in 11 investigated villages. This paper analyzes the factor of the income of the multiple job-holding of rural household. The paper includes six parts.Chapter one introduce the background of the research and the significance of the research. On this basis, reviews the research of home and abroad. In particular, this paper systematic grooms the perspectives, views and influencing factors of the multiple job-holding of rural household. And point the inadequacy of the existing research and the perspective of this paper.Chapter two described the theoretical basis of this paper. And give a definition of the related concept.Chapter three make a comparison of the characteristics of the multiple job-holding household in different geographical environment. This section will analyze the industry characteristics, spatial characteristics and time characteristics of the multiple job-holding household.Chapter four make quantitative analysis from household and village-level. This section introduces the variables related to geographical factors as dummy variable to the econometric models.Chapter five sums up the main conclusions firstly, and then summarize the theory inspiration. At last, propose some policy recommendations, and then points out the insufficiencies and the further research directions of the study.Based on the research, this paper reached the following conclusions:(1)The proportion of the multiple job-holding household is high, most of thembetween 30%-60%.(2)The multiple job-holding household get a higher-income, the work diverse and the source of income diverse.(3)The income of multiple job-holding accounted a larger proportion of the total household income. The locations are most in the village followed by the near village.(4)Terrain has a significant impact on the income of multiple job-holding.(5)Geographical position has a important impact on the income of multiple job-holding. With the distance increase that from the township, the income of multiple job-holding declines.(6)The ratio of multiple job-holding household is directly proportional to the distance of the village from the township, and the distance increase 1m the ratio decline 0.006%.
