Assessment Of Economic Impact And Operational Benefits Of China's Tourism Industry (1996-2005)

The economic impacts and benefits are important problems in tourism study.In accordance with statistics of China's tourism industry from 1996 to 2005,firstly analyzes the macroeconomic contribution of tourism industry which conclude the impact of tourism industry to GDP,the contribution to employment and industrial restructuring,the existing problems and new study ideas are pointed.Then emphatically compares and analyzes tourism industry's operational efficiency from vertical and horizontal aspects by calculating a series of indicators such as the rate of operating margin, taxation,loss and the rate of margin and asset and so on.On the basis of these,the operational efficiency of travel agency,hotel,tourism attractions and traveling companies which constituted tourism industry are analyzed. The studies show that the contributions of China's tourism industry to national economy are little and industry's operating efficiency is low.From 1996 to 2005 is an extensive development decade of China's tourism industry and it is a very urgent task to improve its quality and transform present development model whose goal is tourists reception.
