Research On Project Management Of Shenzhen International Consumer Electronics Fair

International Consumer Electronics Fair (ICEF) is a new exhibition project which is developed by Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (SZCEC) under deep research in global consumer electronics industry and through consideration of SZCEC's own strength. There are two main problems for ICEF: one is the fierce competition from other demostic and overseas consumer electronics exhibition event; the other is SZCEC's own management capability of exhibition events'plan, exhibitor recruitment, visitor invitation, exhibition services, etc. The competition is objective and unavoidable, but the exhibition event's management ability can be improved through continuous efforts. It is a very important task how to improve ICEF project management ability to increase ICEF's competence.The main controlling factors for project management include quatilty, project schedule and cost. The aim of project management is to find out a best slolution for schedule and cost on condition of quality guarantee. The exhibition projects, including ICEF, have the general characters of project management. This thesis research mainly introduces project management method into ICEF. In the research process, appling project management theories, the thesis concludes and analyze thoroughly on scope planning, schedule control, resource planning, project operation and control respectively, trying to figure out how it gained success, finds out existing problem, provides suggestion for improvement. On basis of that, the thesis try to conclude a set of method to manage schedule, cost, quality of the exhibition project to reach the aim of increase the ability of ICEF's planning, operation, organization and management. In the end, the thesis sums up the relavant research work, with a eye to reach some conclusions worthy to be used for reference for those kind of exhibition projects.
