An Operation Strategy Study On The 4S Stores Based On The Theory Of Constraints

Building the vehicle distribution channels has become unprecedentedly important by the increasingly fierce competition in the automobile market. As one of the mainstream models in the domestic auto market, the 4S stores who suffer all kinds of conflicts and pressures are facing fierce competition and the unprecedented challenges of survival. Some of them even go bankrupt. How to integrate the downstream of the supply chain and make the 4S stores get out of their predicament? It's an extremely urgent problem in the Chinese auto industry currently. Based on the theory of constraints, using the six tools of thinking process, the thesis has an in-depth research on the 4S stores.The research results about the 4S stores and thinking process are firstly reviewed. The basic ideas of the theory of constraints, the six tools of thinking process and the focusing five steps used in the distribution system are introduced respectively. After that, the research contents and methods are proposed based on the theory of constraints. Then we defined the Undesirable Effects about the 4S stores, through the classification of the Undesirable Effects, we generalized them into three aspects. Then we built the conflict could for each aspect. Using the"three-cloud process"approach, we generalized the three conflict cloud into the core conflict cloud. Based on the core conflict cloud, we built the current reality tree for the 4S stores. Through a series of the above analysis, we found the core conflict which led the Undesirable Effects occurred and made the 4S stores in trouble. Through challenging the assumptions in the core conflict cloud, we proposed the"Injections"for the 4S stores. Based on the"Injections", we built the future reality tree. Using the tool---Negative Branches, we examined the possible negative outcomes resulted from the injections. Using the last two tools ---the prerequisite tree and the transition tree, we researched the way how to cause the changes. Based on the prerequisite tree and the transition tree, we proposed the method to calculate the target inventory level.
