The recent years witnessed good development trend of tourism in Dangyang city, which is pleasing and encouraging. But when holding a view globally and in terms of development, surveying the tourism resources and neighbouring market of customer sources, learning the experience of developed areas in tourism, we can find that there still exist many problems concerning the tourism development of Dangyang city worth studying and exploring. Currently, the main scenic attractions of Dangyang city are Yuquan Temple, Guanling Temple and Baibao Stockaded Village, whose sizes are all comparatively small so as not to lengthen the travelling distance, detain travellers and gain big consumption. Presently, though some tourers come to Dangyang city for sightseeing, the consumption system of dining, living, travelling, touring, shopping and entaining is far from being formed. As a result, the tourism industry is not leading the local economy greatly. Tourism is an emerging industry with its own pattern and characteristic. The resources and basis to develop tourism vary from place to place. It is going to be half the result, twice the efforts if we cannot command the development trend of tourism under the global circumstances, taking advantage of the local resources characteristics and make workable development strategy according to the inherent pattern of tourism development.
