A Research On Sustainable Development Of Middle And Small Tourism City

Middle and Small Tourist City pleasant environment and unique tourismresources, increasingly sought after by more and more tourists, and the outstandingcontribution of tourism to improve the urban environment, expand employment andpromote urbanization also makes more cities to "build tourist city" as a recent orfuture development goals. As of2010, the number of China’s outstanding tourist cityreached339, and the number of middle and small outstanding tourist city accountedfor more than60%of the total outstanding tourist city, so middle and small tourist cityhas become an important support for China’s economic and social development. Withthe small tourist city deepening resource development, Middle and Small Tourist Citysustainable development has become a new issues involving ecology, management,control theory and other disciplines and fields.Based on the evaluation system of sustainable development at home andabroad,try to establish Middle and Small Tourist City evaluation system of sustainabledevelopment,which includs two systems,six subsystems and33indicators.TakingYichang for example,the thesis analysis the extablished theory and method.The maincontents are as follows:First of all,defining the meaning of the Middle and Small Tourist City, Middleand Small Tourist City sustainable development. And based on domestic andinternational sustainable development index system，thinking the Middle and SmallTourist City composes two systems:tourism resources system and city support system.Secondly,a comprehensive evaluation system for Middle and Small Tourist Cityis being constructed,which has two systems,six subsystems and33indicators. TourismResource System-City Support System coordination degree reflects the ststus andlevel of coordination, Tourism Resource System-City Support System sustainabledevelopment degree reflects the trend of development.Lastly,taking Yichang as an example for empirical research.The results show thatbetween2005-2010the coordinated development of the Tourism ResourceSystem-City Support System of Yichang is in good condition,basically in a state ofsimultaneous development and the level of coordination increased year by year. Butthe level of sustainable development of the tourism resources system, the city support system and the city’s comprehensive system has been declining, which requiresYichang in the process of development should take the harmonious relationshipbetween the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable into account.
