Acclimating the needs of the development of the domestic tourism market,budget hotels,as a new growth point in hospitality industry,have got a great deal of attention in recent years.Budget hotels have experienced a blowout time in our country especially after 2004,for major brands of budget hotel enclosed and expanded in Beijing,Shanghai, Guangzhou,Shenzhen and other metropolitans at an alarming rate.The budget hotel market of Wuhan appearing in 2005,whose expanding speed once ranked first in provincial capitals of our country,has become the main battlefield of international,domestic and local brands of budget hotels at the moment.But with the continual scale expanding of budget hotels in Wuhan,many problems are exposed,such as lax management,aimless operation,disorderly competition and so on.On the other side, with the rapid development of mass tourism and modern business markets of Wuhan, the general consumer groups'demand for cost-effective tourism accommodation facilities is going to further increase.In face of increasingly fierce market competition, how would economy hotels in Wuhan seek advantages,avoid disadvantages and pursue reasonable development to meet the increasing market demand better,is the starting point of the study of this thesis.This paper is divided into six parts:The first chapter:This part describes the background and significance of subject selection,reviews the research status of the economy hotel both at home and abroad, also shows the study content,research methods and innovations.The second chapter:This part introduces the relevant concept of budget hotel including definition,classification and characteristics,and elaborates the general development of budget hotel at home and abroad.The third chapter:This part analyzes supply status of the budget hotel in WuHan from general level,product feature and the market performance,and applies the method of SWOT analysis to analyze the industry developing environment of budget hotel in WuHan.The fourth chapter:This part through collation of relative data and questionnaire survey,analyzes the market demand situation and consumer behavior of budget hotels in WuHan. The fifth chapter:This part proposes the development counter measures of budget hotel in WuHan as follows:industry management,operating mode,marketing,human resources and competitiveness.The sixth chapter:This part gives conclusion and prospect of the full text.
