Agriculture, rural areas and farmers relate to the Party and the nation's development and the overall situation. The third meeting of the seventeenth session of the China Communist Party Central Committee approved of "a number of issues of the CPC Central Committee on rural reform and development", which has reviewed and summed up the glorious history and valuable experience in the process of China's rural reform and development and pointed out the direction for accelerating the new socialist rural construction, promoting vigorously urban and rural integral development, implementing comprehensively the spirit of the party's 17th Session, carrying out the scientific development concept and striving to build a well-off society. The thesis by way of theoretical research and empirical analysis has analyzed the changes regarding Qingdao farmers' overall income growth, their income structure, the income disparities of the farmers from different regions and counties and the income disparities between urban and rural residents, and drawn the following conclusions:(1) The absolute value of Qingdao farmers' per capita net income continues to grow over the past 10 years, but the income growth rates have fluctuated wildly;(2) As for the structure of farmers' income the home business income is the main income of the farmers with the transferring and property income increasing rapidly;(3) The proportion of home business income generating from the first industry declines, but home business remains as the family's main source of income with the income structure being simplistic.(4) As regards the income disparities caused by the geographical differences, farmers' per capita net income in the 8 county-level cities under Qingdao's administration varies largely, but the gap has been gradually stabilized;(5) In regard to the income gap between urban and rural residents the rural and the urban per capita disposable income are both growing, but the growth of the farmers' is not so strong as that of the urban residents. Finally, the thesis, based on the reality in Qingdao's rural areas and aiming at increasing farmers' income, puts forth suggestions on financial support for agriculture, the development of secondary and tertiary industries, and the promotion of the agricultural mechanization of the Tianjin mode, the adjustment of the agriculturalstructure, the improvement of the financial system to support agriculture, and theimprovement of the utilization of agricultural loans.
