A Study On Development Of Broadband Network Business In China Telecom Corporation Limited Jinhua Branch

Communication is one of the fastest growing areas in information industry.It is an important tool of mutual exchange information in people's work and life.Also, the network communication is one of basic platform in present and future economic development.The development of communication networks has undergone a process from narrowband to broadband,artificiality to intelligence,single service to integrated service.As broadband network technology continues to mature,a rapid development has been achieved in the global market of broadband networks.The broadband networks have increasingly penetrated into the economic society and people's life and give a broad development space for telecom operators.As the biggest fixed-line telecom and broadband network operators in China,the China Telecom Corporation Limited has a strong competitive advantage in internet backbone network,long-distance trunk network and local access network.Nowadays, more and more people become the broadband network users of the China Telecom Corporation Limited.However,there is still a large gap between China and advanced countries in the development of broadband network.In China,the broadband network technology and its applications are still at a relatively low level.Therefore, there is a very huge space for the development of broadband network business.In order to promote the development of communication industry,research on the popularization and applications of broadband networks has an important practical significance.This essay emphasizes the combination of theory and practice.With the help of investigation,comparison and logical deductive scientific method,the China Telecom Corporation Limited Jinhua Branch(called Jinhua Telecom) has been used as a specific object of my interest.From the external environment and business environment analysis,the existing problems and development direction of broadband network business of Jinhua Telecom have been carefully analyzed in order to obtain corresponding strategies.In the present essay,the research procedure is as follows: Firstly,the advantages and disadvantages,as well as the opportunities and difficulties in Jinhua Telecom are analyzed in comparison with competitors.Then the SWOT matrix used for guiding the development of broadband network business is constructed.Secondly,the strategic orientation of broadband network business in Jinhua Telecom is analyzed with the help of the value chain analysis method.Finally, the development strategy of broadband network business in Jinhua Telecom is presented.The results show that the development of broadband value-added services is one of the important strategic measure for the broadband network business,the mobile broadband internet will be the competition focus in broadband network business;the competition in broadband network will be shifted from the service to the broadband value chain;and the rural areas will become an important market to be developed for all major broadband network operators.This essay is composed of five chapters as follows.In Chapter 1 the research background and significance are discussed,also the research framework and ideas are presented.In Chapter 2 the strategic environment of broadband network business in Jinhua Telecom is analyzed.In Chapter 3 the advantages and disadvantages,as well as the value chain with regard to Jinhua Telecom are analyzed are investigated.
