A Discussion On Spatial Integration Mechanism Of Crossing-boundaries Commercial Community In Urban Areas

Since the middle and later periods in the 1990s, the system of dual management by the municipal government and district government was firstly implemented in Shanghai, and after the past ten years, practice has shown that it has given a powerful shove-ahead to the economic and social development of Shanghai. But now the weaker points were beginning to show, the "phenomenon of Caojiadu" which was discovered by Professor Liu ten years ago is one of the victims of the system. Under the system, the district government exercises too much executive power, then the district government often behaves in a way that best promotes the interests of the its own district and neglect regional general interests, then the "phenomenon of Caojiadu" was performed.The "phenomenon of Caojiadu" is not the unique phenomenon of Caojiadu commercial community, but is a common phenomenon of the administrative connected regions in the current systems. Based on the Caojidu crossing-boundaries commercial community, the thesis analyzes the formation mechanism through related theories, and then put forwards the integrated mechanisms and the direction of the future development.Chapter one, which is the part of introduction, explains the research background and distinguishes several basic conceptions, such as administrative region, community, administrative community, non-executive community, commercial community and community commercial. Then introduces four theories closely related to the thesis, including the administrative regional economic theory, the administrative regional competitive theory, the space interaction theory and the theory of systems between the administrative region and community.Chapter two, which reviews the research production of commercial community both at home and abroad, and summarizes the research results about administrative system and government actions.Chapter three, which summarizes the history of Caojiadu city community and the three historical opportunities based on defining the spectrum of Caojiadu non--executive community.Chapter four summarizes the characteristics of Caojiadu city community in different stage including the analysis of current situations.Chapter five, which analyzes the formation mechanism of caojiadu non-executive community based on the theories of "economic man" and "administrative regional economy".Chapter six, which puts forward two different thoughts of community integration based on the integrated principal, and then pointed out the community integrated styles from the angles of administrative coordination, interest communion, system security and regional coordination.Chapter seven predicts the probable direction of Caojiadu commercial community and summarizes the main conclusions of the thesis.
