The Impact Of Build-Constructing Hangzhou Bay Bridge On Ningbo's Regional Economics

Construction of the Hangzhou Bay Sea-spanning Bridge is one of the significant construction plans of Jiangsu-Zhejiang traffic design, which, upon its completion, will remarkably improve the domestic communication and transportation system and the transportation efficiency, and make stupendous contribution to the settlement of traffic matters in China. The Hangzhou Bay Sea-spanning Bridge will have huge influence on the regional economy of the surrounding cities no matter during its construction period or in the operation period after its completion just because of the huge fund it needs.This article is composed of five chapters. Chapter I is the prolegomenon explaining the purpose and the content this article will investigate for and into; secondly, a brief description of the project financing of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge will be conducted; thirdly, a comparison of the differences and similarities of BOT plans between the relevant transportation constructions in foreign countries and those of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge in China will be completed; finally, the development of the regional economies in China is to be analyzed. Chapter II is to probe into the economic development state of Ningbo city after the operation of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge in addition to the influence of its completion on the regional economy of Ningbo city. Chapter III is, firstly, the establishment of a theoretical model which will be engaged in the analysis and explanation of the theoretical structure involved in the model of this research, the description of the data resource and analysis means, and the establishment of a generally empirical econometric model; secondly, the forecast and simulation of the model: a forecast of the economic performance of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge as a result of the utilization of the estimated empirical model. Chapter IV is to analyze the direction and strategy for the future improvement of trade policies in Ningbo city based on the simulation result.Utilizing the macro-econometric model, This article investigates into the influence of the Hangzhou Bay Sea-spanning Bridge on the regionally economic variable of Ningbo city including the gross urban product, the import, the price level, the taxation and rate, etc; using the model to simulate the evolution of the whole regional economic system of Ningbo city on the basis of with or without the construction of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, further discusses the main differences between them; at the same time, sets forth series of suggestions towards the future trade policies of Ningbo city for reference.
