A Case Research Of Using Performance Technology To Improve Performance Of Company's Outsourcing Of Logistics Transportation Function

Performace technology is a kind of specialized practice and research with explicit purposes. In this field, besides theory research, the practice can also generate knowledge and push theory research. Performance technology focuses on how to improve the performance of organization and individual. It has got wide application in the enterprise because of its outstanding traits: resolving problems systemically, applying in wide range, and striving to find out low-cost and high-benefit resolving ways.This research' object is the performance management of outsourcing of logistics transportation function in the Operation Department in a full foreign-owned company. Based on home and abroad theories and practices, this thesis applies performance technology model and methodology to analyse the current performance status, find out performance problems, and then diagnose to seek reasons. To improve the performance and resolve those problems, the research also tries to choose and develop reasonable, operable intervention measures which direct to performance problems.There are five chapters in the thesis. Chapter one is the introduction part. It mainly introduces the background, the content, purposes, significance and methods of this research. Chapter two summarizes relevant theories for the research, such as the concept, the methdology, models of performance technology, together with introduction of logistics, and logistics outsourcing theories, and so on.Chapter three and chapter four is the main body. Chapter three gives a brief introduction of the research object and the project. Then it applies the performance assessment system to analyse the current situation of performance management of outsourcing of logistics transportation function, find out what problems are, and also analyse reasons why those problems occur. In chapter four, according to previous analysis, it selects and designs proper intervention measures to solve those problems to improve performance. Those intervention measures have been put to use in daily work and got obvious results.At last, chapter five is a summary for the whole research. It summarizes the outcomes, points out the limitations, and indicate the direction for future research.
