Study On The Pattern Of Nanjing Brocade Industrialization

As one of treasures of China culture, Nanjing Brocade represents the top technology of Chinese traditional silk art crafts. The hand-weaving Zhuanghua technology with the big platform jacquard loom, as the only traditional handicraft knitting techniques, which cannot be replaced by any modern machinery after three thousand years. State Council has listed the technology as one of the first National Non-material Culture Legacies and candidates for the World Human Oral and Non-material Culture Heritage by UNESCO for twice in the year of 2002 and 2004. Now, it comes to a crucial period that Nanjing Brocade applies as the World Heritage for the third time. The Brocade is not only the memory of splendid history of national silk culture but also the symbol of human common spiritual wealth. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao described it as the perfect combination of non-materiality and materiality of non-material culture legacies.The thesis researches on the industrialization mode of Nanjing Brocade in methods of summarizing literature, penetrating interview, abstract analysis and comparison analysis. With the principal of activated protection, it analyzes on the long history of the Brocade and the current development status and concludes the necessity of its industrialization study. As well, it analyzes in detail the key influencing factors for the successful industrialization. An in-depth analysis of the theory of industrial organization and culture including the"SCP"paradigm provided the basic framework for understanding the industrialization of the Nanjing brocade. The key findings of that analysis include the choice of models, financing, branding and marketing strategy. Furthermore, the performance assessing index system is built and the recommendations of implementation countermeasure are put forward.Under the instruction of relating theories and Nanjing Brocade's present situation, this thesis makes an applied research on the industrialization model. This was done through a combination of theory, practice, and a base in reality.
