The product configuration design is becoming a hot topic in the study of mechanical Mass Customization. And the requirements-structured design is an important step in Mass Customization. It's the first step to understand and transferred requirments rightly; also it's an important step to affect the final configuration results.This paper advanced the requirements-structured model basing on extension analysis after taking many papers as reference. Firstly, this model used Extension clustering algorithm to advance the structured efficiency. Then the model used the extension object element to express customer's requirements and used the extension theory of divergence, enlargement and reduction to map customer's requirements to products' structure. Finally, cases of products' structure are chosen by the truth-degree function calculation and the whole requirements-structured process is finished. The new method makes the design subjectivity less and easy to realize intelligence.The main work of this paper is concluded as follows:1. Basd on the study of a great deal of related literature, the research progress and general situation of the requirements expression and model was summarized.2. Extension theories relative to the requirements-structured model was Introduced basing on extension analysis, and improving the truth-degree function to make it fit the next steps of requirements-structured process better in products' configuration.3. The extension clustering algorithm was introduced in details. By comparing with other clustering algorithm, it showed that the extension clustering algorithm was more suitable to deal with the requirements-structured problem in mechanical products; it showed that the module division basing on extension clustering algorithm can improve the configuration efficiency.4. The model building process from customers' requirements to products' structure was finished and each module's functions and realization was illustrated in details. At last, the oil saw was taken as an example to prove the model.5. The model function was realized by making uses of VC++ 6.0, MFC, Access 2003 on the SolidWorks software platform, which showed that the model is easy to intelligence realization; through adding code in the program to test executeon time, the extension clustering algorithm wsa demonstrated that it can improve program's exectution efficiency.
