Research On Development Strategy Of Dalian Changxing Island Port

With the development of economic globalization, logistics has become the symbol of a country's development level and now receive more and more countries' attention. As the node of shipment and distribution centre, the port's role as logistics node become more and more important. So the study of port logistics has become one of the most important tasks.Changxing Island Port locates in the southwest of Changxing Island. According to the master plan of the ports in Dalian, Changxing island port will become one of the most import combinations of Dalian port and Northeast Asia shipment centre. And it will become an import support and component of Northeast region's large-scale industry in and near the port. In the fierce competitive environment, the survival of Changxing Island port will be threatened. Therefore, we need to examine and establish the function and development strategies.Against such a background, this paper uses Changxing Island Port as an example to analyze and research, based on the theory of modern logistics and related theories of strategy,plan,operations. Explore and design suitable functions and development strategy, so that the corporation could find a suitable direction, and have a favourable position in competition with others.In the first part, we analyzed the internal and exterior environment of Changxing island port. The analyze of internal environment includes the regional condition of Changxing island port, throughput condition of the port, distribution of the port and the distribution condition of the port; the exterior environment includes the economic environment, the political environment and the industrial environment.In the second part, based on the logistics development of Changxing island port, we analyzed the opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of Changxing island port. We also forecasted the throughput of Changxing Island port based on the analyses of the supply goods.And at the last part, based with the above analyses, we set down the master plan of Changxing Island and made the development tactic.
