Chinese telecom operation marketing has been carrying out recombination reform, three full-business operaters will become the main players in Chinese telecom marketing. FMC will be a main means to compete in the fierce competition in the present and not so far future. Operaters would face so many chanllenges, such as the revenue decline of telecom business ( especially fixed voice business) , the regress from price to real value, IP and Grouping, the development of ICT, the new business model and the more opened marketing environment, the mergence of industries. Therefore, operaters must reorganize the platform of network and business, the interface to customer and the sales resource, upgrade competition force so as to receive the challenge.The beginning of this article tells the background and relative definition about FMC, then put forward its main characters. The second chapter gives FMC research progress of so many international organizations and the application technology and its present phase. The third chapter emphasizes the driving motion of FMC, mainly about the distributary of mobile business to the fixed, the decline of ARPU, the impact of VOIP, the evolution of mobile network technology and the driving of government. The forth chapter gives some introduction of the oversea operaters' FMC strategy operations. Through the discussion of above five chapters, some conclusion become more obviously, it is the necessity to develop FMC business for china Unicom. Then in the last chapter, some advice was given to china Unicom on the base of its business actuality.
