Research On Farmer's Professional Cooperative Organizations

As a product of market economy, the Farmer's Professional Cooperative Organizations (FPCO) are effective choices for the vast number of dispersed farmers to get access to markets and improve their economic status. A century and a half of world experiences on cooperative movement show that this type of organizations are the world's most successful and main body of contemporary world movement.The rise of China's FPCO is an inevitable result of market-oriented reform and agricultural weak characteristics. They appeared in the early 1980s, whose development process was the same as agricultural specialization and marketization. Having achieved the docking of small farmers with large markets through improving the organization degree in an effective way, FPCO meet the farmers'needs of agricultural social service system better and provide organizational platform for them to participate in market competition. Moreover FPCO are carriers of building a new socialist countryside and developing modern agriculture.However by analyzing the development situation, there are still environmental constraints and a lack of effective internal operating mechanisms in FPCO. Optimizing them from the perspective of theory and practice has very important theoretical and practical significances to achieve good and fast developments. Its theoretical study starts from cases in social practices expanding to exploring general experiences. By analyzing the optimization of external environment and recreation of the internal operating mechanism, the theoretical study will enrich the research results in this area. From the practice level, strengthening the study on development paths, especially on external optimization and internal recreation, will have important practical value to break the bottleneck in developing process.This article adheres to empirical analysis and normative analysis in research methods. The first method provides empirical suggestions for the development of China's FPCO. Based on co-operative economic theory, agricultural economy and systematic theories, the latter method studies existing problems and corresponding reasons in the development of FPCO, and finally makes suggestions to improve them.In conclusion, it's believed that FPCO play an important role in the process of China's agriculture marketization. To realize a better and faster development of FPCO needs strengthening recreation of internal operating mechanism and optimization of external environment. In this process government should accurately locate its role and speed up its functions conversion.
