Industry Agglomeration And Enterprise Efficiency

Industry agglomeration, a general phenomenon in the industrialization process, is a kind of agglomeration economy form to promote regional growth. Industry agglomeration can produce the corresponding effect to influence the economic performance and make the regional industry productivity improved, thus contributing to regional industry growth. In recent years, coal industry, textile industry, electricity industry and chemical industry in Erdos gathered and developed in the region rapidly, which not only become the pillar industry of local economy, but also make Erdos as a the fastest and best economic growth area in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, finally created a spectacular "Erdos economy phenomenon". For the form of industry agglomeration based on the natural resource in Erdos, the study in China is relatively less, and the study on the efficiency of enterprises in industry agglomeration remains to be further in-depth. This paper, based on the theory of industry agglomeration and enterprise efficiency, firstly analyzed the industry structure based on the natural resource in Erdos qualitatively, and measured the industry agglomeration of the resource advantage industries in Erdos quantitatively. Then under the perspective of industry agglomeration, measured technology efficiency and scale efficiency of the resource advantage industries in Erdos by DEA, and estimated the total factor productivity which reflects the enterprise efficiency and the industrial growth by Malmquist. So the paper analyzed the agglomeration effect from the side, which means having inspected the change of enterprise efficiency under the background of the industry agglomeration. This paper attempts to understand and explain how the enterprise efficiency of the resource advantage industries in Erdos changed in the process of the industry agglomeration, looking forward to provide a kind of empirical analysis result to the agglomeration effect based on the natural resource.
