The Effect Of Agricultural Surplus Labor Transfer On Farmers' Income In Inner Mongolia

Agricultural surplus labor transfer is an essential stage to the process of human development. No matter the theory or practices, both indicate that the agricultural surplus labor transfer is an important factor to enhancing the farmers' income, realizing the agricultural modernization, the urbanization, and the industrialization. Inner Mongolia as an ethnic minority border area with the characteristic of vast territory with a sparse population, whether the agricultural surplus labor exist? And in recent years, rural population transferred outward massively, whether this transfer played the advantageous role in enhancing farmers' income? The goal of this research is to study the effect of Inner Mongolia agricultural surplus labor transfer on farmers' income through the empirical analysis, and to provide the quantification basis for promoting agricultural surplus labor transfer of our region.After knowing the current situation of both sides, the diagnosis part of this paper starts from the view of farmers' structure of income source, researching the influence of labor transferring on farmers' income through analyzing the changes of Inner Mongolia farmers' income structure and comparison between our region, the nation and other provinces. Then estimates agricultural surplus labor quantity of our region using the method of cultivated-land and labor ratio, quantifies the relation between agricultural surplus labor quantity and farmers' income through utilizing the double logarithm model. Finally further explains their relations through the successful case of Zhenglanqi. Through the above empirical analysis, we can see quite obviously that the agricultural surplus labor transfer has remarkably promoting action to the farmers' income. Our region's industrial structure is extremely unreasonable, and agricultural productivity is somewhat low. Therefore, the agricultural labor has the necessity to transfer. But there are many problems in transferring the agricultural labor in our region at present. The government should solve the problem from the aspects of system, economic development and rural human capital.
