With the development of global economy and trade liberalization, environment globalization has been noticed universally. Especially, the developed countries pay more and more attention to environment. Therefore, there are two impetus: one is to realize trade liberalization to promote the economic growth, the other is to enhance environmental protection by trade measures. It seems that environmental protection and trade liberalization are the mutual goals which international society pursues. Some countries signed many international and multilateral environmental conventions, which bring on green barrier. It will prevent the further development of trade liberalization. Therefore, we are urgent to coordinate the conflicts between trade liberalization and environment protection.Firstly, the paper focuses on discussing the complex relationship of trade liberalization and environment protection: conflict and promote/But their final goal is to realize the common interests for human. Secondly, the paper analyzes the conflicts in the aspects of WTO and multilateral environment agreements, then concludes the conflicts reasons related to rules and interests. Thirdly, chapter three analyzes the coordination practice of WTO and some regional organizations, on which discuses the clue of realizing coordination. Finally, the paper aims at analyzing the chances and challenges China confronts with. As the biggest developing country, China should grasp the challenges and have a positive attitude towards it, take part in international cooperation in the field of trade liberalization and environment protection, adjust and enhance the environment law and standard, expand environment industry to strengthen the competitive force of environment production and technology, regulate overseas investment policies flexibly to prevent pollution transference and to promote the level of environment protection and coordinate the development of trade liberalization and environment protection.
